Griselda and Gerardo of Electronics Plus were born entrepreneurs. Griselda funded her college degree by running a weekend fruit stand, while Gerardo’s journey began at age 13, working at flea markets in Salinas. After facing the uncertainty of repeated layoffs, Gerardo decided to take a leap of faith: he would no longer wait for a stable job; he would create one. What started as a small kitchenware stall at the flea market eventually transformed into a thriving brick-and-mortar store: Electronics Plus.
For the past 26 years, their motivation has remained the same: customer satisfaction. They take pride in knowing their customers leave happy with both the service and products they receive. Some of their most meaningful moments come from hearing longtime customers say their home audio systems are still working years later, or when former childhood visitors return as loyal customers themselves. These experiences continue to remind them why they do what they do.
As the world shifted digital, Griselda and Gerardo noticed a gap. While they had a loyal base of regular customers, they weren’t reaching the younger generation. They knew their products were great, but their social media presence was missing the mark. Seeking a way to modernize, they turned to El Pájaro CDC. Through our marketing course and financial technical assistance, they identified their ideal client profile and built a real marketing plan. Griselda began filming Reels and TikToks, showing the human side of their tech expertise.
The results were immediate. Griselda shares: “I have lost the fear of uploading content to social media. Although I know my posts are not perfect, I have seen a drastic change in the number of clients that enter my store.”
Today, Electronics Plus is buzzing with a new demographic of customers aged 16–25 who discovered them online. With their finances in order and their digital presence growing, Gerardo and Griselda are now preparing for their next big step: launching an online store to reach customers beyond their local community.
Their journey is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and passion for serving their community. After 26 years in business, they remain deeply grateful for the trust and support of their customers and continue working with the same commitment to quality, excellent service, and helping customers bring their audio projects to life.
